Raphanus sativus var. major - Radish

(2)

Radish - Raphanus sativus var. major has a HTS of 15-20 g and 50-70 seeds per gram. Radishes are undemanding and grow well even in colder regions. A well and deeply worked medium-heavy soil is important for the quality of the roots. Fresh fertilisation with organic fertilisers is not advisable as it causes an unpleasantly pungent taste and can lead to increased worming. Long-rooted varieties are grown in ridges. Spring varieties are sown in April and May, late varieties are sown from mid-July to mid-August.
