Astilbe arendsii is a popular, undemanding perennial, tolerating both sunny and shady sites. Moist soils well supplied with nutrients are ideal. It produces abundant inflorescences in a variety of colours which contrast very nicely with the dark green foliage. Sown in II-III, germinates at 20-22 °C for 28 days, then grown at 15-18 °C, transplanted into pots in 10-12 weeks, grown without vernalization. Overwinters at 3-5 °C, recommended to cover with non-woven fabric, cultivation time: 12-23 weeks, K2.
