A perennial herb growing to 10-20 cm tall, ornamental with silver leaves that are crispy with the savoury taste of fresh oysters. This makes it perfect for a variety of salads, to which it adds a unique aroma. Its low spreading habit makes it ideal for rockeries, hanging baskets and mixed containers. Germinates at 20-22 °C, cover with vermiculite, requires vernalization for flowering, K3, 400 seeds in 1 g.
