Dianthus interspecific
(6)Caryophyllaceae, annuals for bedding or outdoor containers, seedlings for sale V-VI, sowing 1300 seeds per 1000 plants, end I-III, germinates 7-14 days at 18-21 °C, cultivated. Pricking out II-IV into 8 cm pots, day temperatures 16-18 °C, night temperatures above 15 °C, as a pot plant in 10-12 cm pots. Cultivation time for the production of flowering plants is 13-15 weeks.
Chiba™ F1 varieties are the earliest flowering group resulting from a crossbreeding of Dianthus barbatus × Dianthus chinensis. The plants are very well branched, with rich inflorescences of nicely rounded flowers forming on individual shoots. All varieties in the Chiba group have a highly balanced compact growth habit and are therefore ideal for denser plantings or smaller containers. They grow to a height (and width) of 25-35 cm in the bed, but are smaller in containers at about 25 cm. The great advantage of the group is their resistance to heat, cold and rain, which is why they are an ideal choice for your garden.
