Ornamental cabbages are becoming increasingly popular with florists. The varieties intended for this purpose have a relatively small, intensely coloured leaf rosette 10-15 cm in diameter and a stem 60-90 cm long. A density of 64 plants / 1 m2 is recommended to produce a sufficiently long stem. A support net should be used to prevent the plants from bending and to keep the stem straight; cultivation period 19-21 weeks. Fertilise adequately at the beginning of cultivation. However, when heads colour up, do not fertilise and reduce watering; lower temperatures lead to better colouring of the heads.
