Begonia semperflorens FlowerBall F1
(4)FlowerBall F1 is a new group of semi-double - double varieties. Plants are 20-25 cm tall, well branched, compact growth with flowers up to 4 cm in diameter. The plants have a self-cleaning effect which greatly facilitates the care of the planting. The varieties are suitable both for planted containers of various sizes and for bedding plantings with the possibility of combining individual colours. They withstand higher temperatures and rain well and flower from spring until the first frost.
For V-VII sales, sow XII-II one pellet per planter cell (288 cells), germinate in the light for 7-10 days at 22-24 °C, then grow at 18-21 °C during the day and 16-18 °C at night, transplant into 11-12 cm pots after 6-8 weeks; total cultivation time from sowing is 12-15 weeks. Care should be taken to ensure proper watering and fertilisation to avoid salinization of the substrate and overwatering, which can lead to the spread of the pathogenic fungi Botrytis and Phytophthora. Substrate acidity pH 6,0-6,2. Light shading is recommended to avoid burning of the leaves by the harsh sun. B-Nine, Cycocel can be used for growth control, a mixture of these two products is also effective.
